Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 May 2026
MathsDom ("the app", "we") is a free math puzzle game. This policy explains
what data the app handles, where it is stored, and the controls you have
over it.
1. What data we collect
The app works fully offline without an account. You can choose to sign in
with Google to enable cloud sync and the global leaderboard. Depending on
how you use the app, the following data is handled:
- Game progress stored on your device (score, current puzzle, current matrix puzzle, app settings such as dark mode, sound, music). Stored in your browser's
localStorage.
- If you sign in with Google: your Google display name, Google profile photo URL, and account ID (
uid) are received from Google Sign-In and stored in our cloud database alongside your game progress so it can sync across your devices and appear on the leaderboard.
- If you set a custom display name: the name you choose and the timestamp of the change.
- Anti-abuse signals: Google reCAPTCHA v3 runs in the background to distinguish humans from bots. Google may collect basic device and browsing signals as part of this check (see Google's privacy policy).
We do not collect:
- Your email address (the app receives only your Google display name and photo, not your email).
- Your contacts, location, microphone, camera, or any device permissions beyond standard web storage.
- Advertising identifiers. The app contains no ads and no tracking pixels.
2. How the data is used
- To save and restore your game progress across devices.
- To display your name, photo, and score on the public leaderboard for signed-in users.
- To prevent abuse and cheating (reCAPTCHA v3, App Check).
The data is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for marketing.
3. Where the data is stored
Cloud data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore database + Firebase
Authentication), operated by Google LLC. Firebase processes data in
Google's global infrastructure. See
Firebase privacy
and Google's privacy policy
for details.
Data on your device is stored only in your browser's local storage. It
never leaves your device unless you sign in.
4. Third-party services
- Google Sign-In — handles authentication.
- Firebase Firestore — stores your leaderboard entry and progress.
- Google reCAPTCHA v3 / Firebase App Check — protects the service from bots and automated abuse.
5. Children's privacy
The app is suitable for all ages and contains no ads, no chat, no
user-generated content, and no in-app purchases. We collect only the
minimum data needed to provide the game features. Parents who want to
remove a child's data can use the in-app account deletion or contact us
(see section 7).
6. Your rights and controls
- Play without an account: the app works fully offline; you don't have to sign in.
- Sign out from Settings — your cloud data is deleted from the leaderboard, your local progress on the device is kept.
- Change your display name from Settings (once every 7 days).
- Delete your account from Settings — removes all cloud data and your Firebase Auth account; also wipes the local progress on the current device. This is irreversible. See the dedicated page: Account deletion instructions.
7. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the "Last updated" date at the
top. Material changes will be announced in-app.
